I iron my button up dress shirt and by the time I get to work it is already wrinkled again. I do tuck in my shirt. I try to buy wrinkle free shirts but not all the shirts I like are wrinkle free. What can I do?

i hear starch works, but i would check with the shirt maker to make sure it wont hurt it. or spot test it in a hidden area

carry your nice shirt to work with you on a hanger and put it on after you get there, because from the transition from the car to the work place it can become pretty wrinkle and you probably think I wasted my time ironing this.

Roll the sides of the shirt together at the sides of your waist where you tuck into your pants and tighten the belt.

Try not to use so much startch when ironing and when you wash, put some fabric softner in the rinse cycle and/or a fabric softner sheet in the dryer. Your shirt will still keep its form, it just won’t be so ’stiff’ where it would wrinkle easily.
P/S – I’m glad to hear men still wear dress shirts these days – and to have one actually know how to iron is a plus!!!!

Well, for one thing you might want to relax your standards… the only people with starchy wrinkle-less shirts are airbrushed pictures in Esquire magazine.
It helps if you don’t have a tummy/overhang…. what I notice. Seems to me that really thin men seem to look less rumpled but that men who have are a little portly have a hard time looking quite as tidy. Please correct me if I’m wrong. In this case, it might help to do some working out.
If you have your shirts custom made for you they will probably fit better and wrinkle less in specific places (like around the arm/shoulder line and around the waist area).
If you wear another shirt to work and then put your workshirt when you get there, you might feel fresher?
In the summer buy seersucker… it is naturally wrinkled and has the look of being starchy fresh and unwrinkled. (Do they still make searsucker I wonder???)
Anyhow, good luck!
