I am in my 30’s and started to have oily skin with breakouts on chin. it is driving me crazy! I use Estee lauder products but now i want to try something different. Has anyone tried the Clinique line of acne cleanser steps and liked it? Or does Lancome or Estee lauder have one that is good! What is the best foundation also for oiler skin!
thanks.
Well I know it may sound crazy given the ads on tv BUT
proactive really did change my world around with regard to daily cleansing. I used many different lines in the past but consistenly proactive has worked. They offer cleansors and a line of make up which is great! The best part is if you don’t like it send it back and stop ordering it. They have ordering their line of facial products set up as a "club" so the products come on a reg. basis (you decide how often 2 months, 4 months, etc.) but there is no club fee and no termination fee. Try it – it worked for me and I was a serious doubting girl. I spent lots of $$ on department store brands prior to switching without any lasting success. I’ve been using Proactive for over a year now and am still very pleased with the results.
Good luck!

I would recommend an oil-free moisterizer with UVA and UVB sunscreen. I use an over the counter one called PURPOSE.. and it works great!

Clinique has a whole line of moisturizers, cleansers, and make-up specially made for oily skin and acne-prone skin. Check out your nearest Clinique counter at a department store. They’ll use the products on you and give you samples to take home. If you like how the samples work, which I bet you will, then you can go back and buy them. This is what I did and I won’t use anything else now.

I love Neutrogena oil free moisturizer and Oil of Olay foaming cleanser. My break outs reduced so much as it both are oil free and very gentle. Any mild oil free cleanser and moisturizer should be good for break outs.
Oily skin people should refrain from using liquid foundation, makes skin more greasy. Try cream or stick foundation and finish up with loose powder.
Hope this helps

you should try St. Ives apricot scrub. it has these little beads in it that digs down into theskin and removes blackhead..etc.. i use it and i love it. you can get it at wal-mart for like $4. oh yeah and about the proactive thing, i’ve never used it and you probably shouldn’t either. my cousin uses it and says it works great just like they say, but… once you run out (not too cheap) your acne problem gets soo much worse(i’ve seen it) soo just thing about it before you buy it. good luck!!

I’m 30 and have oily skin also. i like the clean and clear line. the soap, the toner and the moisturizer. they work for me. and once or twice a week i treat my face to a oil of olay self foaming facial discs for oily skin. they have 2 sides, one side washes and the other side exfoliates. and sometimes when I’m stressed and extra oily, i use good old Noxzema. you just have to try different things and see what works for you. everyone has different skin and you have to find something that won’t irritate yours. I’ve always like the clinique brand cream to powder foundation, the oil free kind. i hope i helped. oh and i used to sell mary kay and i tried alot of their products and they just made my skin more oily, so don’t let them talk you into something that you don’t need or can’t afford. you can get the same stuff at the store for cheaper. i always stressed skin care, you only get one face, so take care of it. i don’t know if you wear make-up or not, but why put make-up on skin that isn’t healthy, it will just make the problem worse. don’t mean to preach, just sharing my knowledge. good luck!!!!
